Product Description

The General Electric WR14X29374 Refrigerator Door Gasket in white creates an airtight seal, preventing cold air from escaping and maintaining optimal cooling efficiency. Designed to fit securely around the refrigerator door, it compresses when closed to block warm air from entering. Constructed from durable, flexible material, it conforms to the door frame, ensuring a snug fit and long-lasting performance. This gasket helps regulate internal temperature, reducing energy consumption and keeping stored food fresh for longer. By preventing moisture buildup and frost formation, it minimizes the need for frequent defrosting and enhances overall appliance efficiency. A well-sealed door also contributes to consistent cooling, preserving food quality and reducing strain on the refrigerator’s compressor for extended durability.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Your refrigerator should be disconnected from the electrical outlet and then any items located near or on the door, including shelves or drawers, should be taken out.

Step 2: Initially, the old gasket should be gently detached from the door. One corner should be started at and carefully pulled away from the door, moving around the edges of the refrigerator door.

Step 3: After the old gasket has been taken off, the perimeter of the refrigerator door opening should be measured. A replacement gasket that corresponds to the dimensions of the refrigerator door opening will be required for an accurate fit.

Step 4: For the installation of the new gasket, one corner should be started at and the gasket should be firmly pressed into position. It should be verified that the correct side is facing outward and that there are no folds in the material. The perimeter should be moved along until the entire gasket is secured.

Step 5: To complete the task, the fit of the seal should be assessed by closing the door to check if the seal is drawn tightly against the refrigerator door opening. If the seal does not fit securely, adjustments may be necessary.

Step 6: Finally, your refrigerator should be reconnected to the power source and it should be verified that the seal functions correctly.
