Evaporator

Refrigerator Evaporator

The refrigerant evaporator removes heat from the inside of the refrigerator and transfers it outside. The evaporator is usually located in the back of the refrigerator and is composed of a series of tubes that carry refrigerant. As the refrigerant flows through the tubes, it absorbs heat from the inside of the refrigerator, causing the temperature to drop. The refrigerator evaporator fan circulates air throughout the appliance. It is responsible for blowing cold air from the evaporator throughout the refrigerator and freezer compartments. Without the evaporator fan, the refrigerator would not cool properly, and food would spoil much more quickly.

If the refrigerator evaporator fan motor fails, it can be a significant problem for homeowners. The motor is responsible for powering the evaporator fan and can wear out over time. When this happens, the refrigerator may start to make unusual noises or not cool properly. A refrigerator evaporator fan replacement may be necessary in some cases to restore functionality.
