Installation Steps

Step 1: All required tools and materials, such as a screwdriver, socket wrench set, pliers, wire cutters, and a new Whirlpool WPW10287601 seal, are to be assembled.

Step 2: Power to the washer is to be disconnected. The unit is to be unplugged from the electrical outlet and it is to be verified that all controls are switched off.

Step 3: The control panel is to be detached by unscrewing the screws and pulling the panel away while standing in front of the washer.

Step 4: Any screws securing the old seal are to be taken out with the socket wrench set. The wire linked to the seal is to be disconnected and it is to be taken off the drum.
