The Whirlpool WPW10236098 Washer Knob allows the user to select and adjust the settings of wash cycles on the appliance. It is placed on the front control panel of the washer and connected directly to the selector shaft or electronic encoder mechanism attached to the main control board. The knob shaft is tailored to provide the rotational or positional input signals that are relative to the programmed wash options. This allows the connection with the cycle selection system to be controlled by the user to facilitate the correct initiation of the program and support coordinated operation.
