Product Description

The Whirlpool WPW10207398 Range Oven Bake Element generates heat via electrical resistance to cook food. During operation, electricity flows through the element, causing it to glow red and emit radiant heat. The Whirlpool range oven heats evenly, resulting in consistent cooking. A functional bake element allows for proper baking and roasting.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Power to the range should be disconnected. Prior to initiating any repair activities, it should ensure that both the main power switch for the range and the corresponding breaker in your fuse box are deactivated.

Step 2: The bake element should be identified. The back panel of the range should be taken off and the bake element located in the lower part of the oven should be found.

Step 3: The old element should be taken out. The 2 terminal wires connected to the old element should be detached by unscrewing the wire connectors from the terminals. The Phillips head screwdriver should be utilized to extract the screws that hold the element to the oven wall. The element should be carefully pulled away from the wall.

Step 4: The new bake element should be placed. The new bake element should be positioned against the oven wall and fastened with the screws. After ensuring the element is firmly in place, the two wires should be reconnected using the terminal screws.

Step 5: The element should be verified. Power to the range should be restored and the oven temperature should be adjusted to 350°F/176°C. About 15 minutes should be taken for the element to reach the desired heat. If it fails to do so, the wiring connections may need to be inspected.

Please remember that these instructions serve as general guidance and should always be used alongside the manufacturer's manual, if it is available.
