The Whirlpool WP99001791 Dishwasher Pump Housing Filter prevents food particles and debris from getting into the circulating wash water before the pump system. It is installed on the pump housing located at the bottom of the dishwasher tub, mounted in the sump assembly in line with the circulation pump inlet and spray system water path. It connects with the pump body and the sump chamber by a clipped or seated mesh construction, which provides proper filtration orientation. It assists in wash cycles to keep the supply of clean water flowing and prevents clogging during washing.
