Installation Steps

Step 1: Start by disconnecting your Whirlpool washing machine from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: Your washer should be leaned onto its left side and the five Phillips head screws found at the bottom on the back of the washer should be taken out. Upon removing the back panel, the roller shaft will become visible.

Step 3: The two Phillips head screws holding the roller shaft in position must be taken out. Three grooves along the length of the roller shaft are featured. The flat section of the shaft should fit into the center groove.

Step 4: Once the roller shaft has been taken out, a damp cloth should be used to clean the area, eliminating any dirt or debris. This step is essential for ensuring a snug fit for the new roller shaft.

Step 5: The new WP6-3129480 Whirlpool Roller Shaft should be grabbed and placed into the center groove of the washer, confirming that the flat section of the shaft is aligned with the center of the groove. The roller shaft should be fastened using the two Phillips head screws.

Step 6: The back panel of the washer should be reattached and the five Phillips head screws should be tightened.

Step 7: The washer should be reconnected to the power source and the washer should be checked to confirm it operates correctly.
