Product Description

The Whirlpool WP358912 is a critical yet little component of your washing machine. Sometimes called a retainer ring or thrust spacer, is made of white plastic and is located inside the agitator assembly of many Whirlpool direct-drive washers. Despite not being visible, it is quite important. The WP358912 functions like a clasp, securely holding the upper and lower portions of the agitator together. This cap seal makes sure all the parts rotate together while the agitator rotates throughout wash cycles, effectively tumbling and cleaning your clothes. The agitator's ability to wash effectively may be compromised by a loose or wobbly cap seal, which may also result in noise or other problems.

Installation Steps

Step 1: The freezer door should be opened and any ice trays and shelves should be taken out to gain access to the back panel.

Step 2: The Philips head screwdriver should be employed to remove the screws situated along the back panel. The panel should be detached to expose the evaporator coils.

Step 3: The flat-head screwdriver should be utilized to loosen the screws securing the sealed area. The seal should be unscrewed from the coils and thrown away.

Step 4: The new Whirlpool WP358912 seal should be positioned around the evaporator coils. It should ensure that it is firmly attached with the screws.

Step 5: The putty knife or old credit card should be used to flatten the edges of the seal so that it sits tightly against the coils.

Step 6: The back panel should be reattached and fastened with the screws.

Step 7: The freezer door should be closed and it should be confirmed that the seal is securely positioned.
