The Whirlpool WP31001590 Dryer Temperature Control Thermistor senses air temperature within the appliance and provides temperature input to the control system. It is placed in the airflow path near the heating section and connected to the wiring through its electrical terminals. The thermistor responds to changes in temperature and sends corresponding resistance signals to the control circuitry and allows the system to detect heat conditions & regulate dryer operation. It coordinates temperature sensing with the heating and airflow components, maintaining controlled heat levels throughout tumbling, heating, cooling and drying cycles.
