The General Electric WJ53X23546 Air Conditioner 4-Way Valve Assembly regulates the direction of the flow between the heating and cooling operation modes. It works based on an internal sliding spool system, which diverts the high- and low-pressure refrigerant flow as per the requirements of the system and allows mode reversal in a closed system of the appliance. This mechanism is operated by an electromagnetic coil that moves the valve position according to electrical control signals from the system controller of the main lines.
