The Whirlpool W11626107 Refrigerator Defrost Heater 48" is a heat coil that eliminates the frost formation in the evaporator coils of a refrigerator by heating them during the defrost process. It produces heat through electrical resistance that melts the ice that has accumulated on the coil. It is installed on the back of the liner surrounding the freezer and is coupled to the control board and thermostat, and it switches on at fixed intervals as per temperature sensors. It prevents the formation of frost and ensures the free flow of airflow.
