The Whirlpool W11620567 Range Knob is used to control burner settings by turning the internal valve function that controls gas flow during cooking. It mounts onto the stem of the burner valve and provides a tactile user interface to choose the level of flame or heat to use when cooking. The knob is placed on the front control panel, whereby users can comfortably and properly use surface burners.
