The Whirlpool W11173361 Washer Door Bellow controls the water that leaks out of the module and drum of the appliance. It works by flexing and compressing when opening and closing the door, keeping a tight seal around the drum opening. It is placed between the washer door and the front panel and is firmly fixed to the cabinet and connected to the assembly and the drum so that it is sealed, aligned, and coordinated to operate.
