The Whirlpool W10685631 Oven Broil Element transforms electrical power to produce convective heat by reducing it into a directional heat source via emission of radiant energy at the top of the cooking chamber. It is fitted to terminals in the upper interior wall of the oven and is aligned with the power harness in a manner that the flow of current through the coil results in high-temperature production. It emits heat downwards to food surfaces and is located high in the cavity of the oven, where it can be directly exposed to high heat.
