The Whirlpool 9708070 Mixer Gearcase uses gears to transmit the motor torque to the mixing attachments to run properly. It contains overlapping gear wheels that change high-speed motor rotation into slow-speed movement that can be controlled and proper for the blending of dough, batter and ingredients. It is attached between the motor housing of the mixer and the attachment hub to bring mechanical forces into alignment and provide rotational stability. The internal gears are in a coordinated pattern as the mixer motor is turned on to provide power to the attachments.
