Product Description

The Whirlpool 74005189 is a replacement rear gas burner designed solely for Whirlpool gas ranges. It's the component on your stovetop which delivers heat for cooking. The burner is probably a circular metal plate with an opening for gas in the centre. When turned on, gas operates through the outlet and explodes with a spark, which produces a flame that heats your cookware. This rear burner tends to be larger in size and BTU output then the front burners on a range. This makes it flawless for simmering large pots or using pans without even heat distribution across an extended surface. The burner's high-quality porcelain exterior guarantees its durability, immunity to corrosion, and simple maintenance.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Your range should be disconnected from the power source and the gas supply should be deactivated. Additionally, any shelves or drawers should be taken out from the range prior to initiating this repair.

Step 2: The screws that hold the rear burner in position on the range top should be identified. The screws should be removed using a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 3: The old burner should be gently extracted from the range, ensuring not to harm the burner’s electrical wiring.

Step 4: The new rear burner should be placed into position. The burner’s wiring should be reattached, confirming that the wires are securely fastened.

Step 5: The burner should be fastened to the range top with the retaining screws that were previously taken out.

Step 6: The gas supply should be reactivated and your range should be plugged back in. The rear burner should be ignited and its proper functionality should be verified.

Step 7: If the burner functions correctly, any shelves or drawers that had been removed earlier should be returned.

Please remember that these instructions should be served as general guidance and should always be referenced alongside the manufacturer's manual, if accessible.
