Installation Steps

Step 1: Your dryer is disconnected from its electrical outlet and the gas supply lines are shut off.

Step 2: The front access panel of your dryer is taken off using a screwdriver.

Step 3: The current gas valve solenoid coils are identified, located in the upper left portion of the dryer’s interior.

Step 4: The leads and terminals are detached from the current gas valve solenoid coil.

Step 5: The current gas valve solenoid coils are extracted from your dryer by unscrewing the two screws that secure them to the gas valve assembly.

Step 6: The replacement component: 279834 Whirlpool Dryer Gas Valve Solenoid Coil Kit, 2PK is acquired.

Step 7: The new gas valve solenoid coils are positioned by first connecting the leads and terminals, followed by fastening them to the dryer with the two screws.

Step 8: The front access panel is reattached to the dryer and the screws are firmly tightened.

Step 9: The gas supply lines are reactivated and the dryer is reconnected to its electrical source.

Step 10: The dryer’s operation is verified to confirm that the replacement component is working correctly.
