Installation Steps

Step 1: The washing machine is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: The top panel of the washer is taken off by removing the screws situated at the rear of the appliance.

Step 3: The old WH16X10158 GE Rod and Spring Assembly is taken away and disposed of.

Step 4: The rear drum baffle which is secured with two screws is detached.

Step 5: The new assembly is oriented so that the rod is directed upward, and the spring is directed downward.

Step 6: The assembly is placed into the lower section of the rear drum baffle.

Step 7: The baffle is fastened back to the rear of the washer using the two screws.

Step 8: The top panel is reattached onto the machine and secured with screws.

Step 9: The machine is reconnected to the power source and the functionality of the new assembly is verified.
