The General Electric WH12X22716 Washer Pressure Switch is a sensing part that measures, and regulates the amount of water in the washing machine tub. Its function is to sense the pressure that is formed by incoming water, and alert the control system to initiate, terminate or modify filling. This switch is activated by an air-pressure hose that is attached to the tub. As the water expands, the air pressure improves and the internal diaphragm switches the electrical contacts. It installs into the washer cabinet, where it is connected between the tub, and the control panel.
