Product Description

The General Electric WH01X20438 Washer Tub Strap Assembly is used to stabilize motion in agitation and spinning when the tub and the frame compose the appliance. It is fitted on special anchor points so as to restrict undue sway while leaving the tub to swing enough to permit its usual operation. Its position eliminates the pressure mounted on other hardware and maintains the washer when dealing with varying loads. The strap assembly assists in maintaining a proper tub motion in the suspension system of the appliance.

Installation Steps

Step 1: The back panel should be detached from the rear side of your GE appliance. The panel should be carefully unscrewed and placed aside.

Step 2: The existing shock strap should be identified, which is generally fixed to the lower section of the appliance towards the back. The wires might have to be shifted to find it.

Step 3: The old shock strap should be removed by unscrewing the fasteners that secure it. All associated components, including nuts and washers, should be kept for potential reuse.

Step 4: The replacement shock strap should be taken and fixed in the same position as the previous one. The screws, washers, and nuts should be firmly tightened using a screwdriver.

Step 5: Finally, the back panel of your GE appliance should be reinstalled. It should be aligned with the holes on the appliance and carefully screwed back into place.

Your GE appliance is now prepared for operation! By substituting the old shock strap with a new one, the effective operation of your appliance is contributed to and the likelihood of damage is reduced.

Please note that these instructions serve as general guidance and should always be followed alongside the manufacturer's manual, if one is available.
