Installation Steps

Step 1: Detach the old strike plate: The two screws securing the strike plate should be removed using a Phillips head screwdriver.

Step 2: Take off the old strike plate: The old strike plate should be gently taken away and placed aside.

Step 3: Measure the door jamb: With a ruler, the width and height of the door jamb should be ascertained. It should be ensured to measure from the center of the hole designated for the strike plate.

Step 4: Choose the new strike plate: The new strike plate that corresponds best with your door jamb's measurements should be selected.

Step 5: Position the new strike plate: The new strike plate should be inserted into the opening in the door jamb and fastened using the screws that held the previous plate in position. If the screws are excessively long for the new plate, their length should be modified using a flathead screwdriver.

Step 6: Verify the new strike plate: The door should be opened and closed multiple times to ensure the new plate operates correctly.

Congratulations- the GE WE01M10007 strike plate has been successfully swapped!
