The General Electric WD49X24057 Dishwasher Ultra Fine Filter Kit is an assembly of multiple stages of filtering installed at the bottom of the appliance tub to trap minute debris during the wash/drain cycles. It will be installed in the sump area, where fine particles are filtered to ensure they do not flow back into the spray system and lead to a blockage of internal parts. Its stratified design guides water along regulated routes, and includes solids in the filter chamber. Through effective separation of debris, the kit assists in ensuring a consistent flow, and improved wash results

Installation Steps

Step 1: The dishwasher is disconnected from the electrical outlet.

Step 2: The dishwasher is elevated and slightly angled to reach the bottom area.

Step 3: The current filter assembly is identified and the wires are detached.

Step 4: The old filter assembly is gently taken out by loosening the screws that secure it.

Step 5: The surrounding area is cleaned to eliminate any grime or particles prior to fitting a new filter.

Step 6: The new filter is positioned within the dishwasher, making sure the arrows on the filter are aligned with the arrows on the dishwasher.

Step 7: The filter is fastened using the screws supplied.

Step 8: The wires are reconnected to the new filter.

Step 9: Pressure is applied on the edges of the filter to confirm a snug fit.

Step 10: The dishwasher is placed back in its initial location and is reconnected to the electrical outlet.

Step 11: A standard cycle is executed to verify the functionality of the new filter.
