General Electric WD12X10385 Dishwasher Finger Indexer
Product Description
The General Electric WD12X10385 Dishwasher Finger Indexer is used to ensure the proper functioning of the dishwasher spray arm, which rotates in a controlled, step-by-step manner during the wash cycle. The finger indexer has a plastic gear or pawl that is in contact with the spray arm spindle. When the wash motor is running, this indexer causes the spray arm to turn the correct amount. It pauses and steps in increments rather than just spinning around. Such a directional rotation will assist in the even distribution of water on all dishes. Once this component becomes worn out or ruptured the spray arm can either spin out of control repeatedly or cease rotating at all, resulting in an ineffective cleaning efficiency.
