Installation Steps

Step 1: The GE WB28K10578 Round Valve Burner is disconnected from the power source.

Step 2: Both the gas knob and the power switch found on the wall behind your stove are switched off.

Step 3: The primary gas valve for the stove as well as the power supply to your kitchen are shut off.

Step 4: The disassembly of the burner is initiated by loosening the screws that hold the burner to the stove top.

Step 5: After the burner is gently lifted out of the stove, it is positioned flat and the various components that make up the burner are started to be detached. The burner cover is begun with, followed by the igniter wire, and then the burners.

Step 6: When the burner is fully disassembled, a cloth moistened with warm soapy water is used to softly clean each part. Particular focus is placed on the burner cap and burner holes for any accumulated dirt or food debris.

Step 7: Any signs of corrosion or rust are inspected for, and any components are replaced as necessary.

Step 8: The new burner components are inserted into the burner frame, making sure that each item is properly positioned and securely attached.

Step 9: The frame is reinserted into the stovetop, aligning it carefully with the burner port.

Step 10: The frame is fastened using the screws.

Step 11: The igniter wire and the burner cover are attached.

Step 12: The power switch and main gas valve are reactivated.

Step 13: The electrical supply to your kitchen is restored.

Step 14: The burner is carefully ignited and the flame is verified to ensure proper functionality.
