Step 1: The unit is disconnected from the power source. It is ensured that the unit is unplugged from the wall prior to initiating any repair work.
Step 2: The faulty fuse is identified. Any signs of burning or discoloration on the fuse are looked for. If it is proved difficult to find, a multimeter is utilized to check each fuse until the defective one is identified.
Step 3: The fuse is extracted. The wires connected to the fuse's sides are gently detached. Following that, the fuse is taken out from its designated mounting slot.
Step 4: A new fuse is placed. Once the appropriate replacement fuse (GE WB27X10542 Fuse 5 A 125V) has been obtained, the new fuse is carefully positioned into its mounting slot and the wires are reconnected to the sides of the fuse.
Step 5: The repair is verified. Power is restored by plugging the unit back into the wall. Subsequently, the unit is checked to confirm that the new fuse is functioning correctly.
Step 6: Any leftover debris is cleared away. Diligence is exercised in removing any debris or dust that might have resulted from the repair.
