The General Electric WB18X31472 Range High Voltage Electrodes & Harness is used to generate and deliver high-voltage electrical pulses to the surface burner electrodes in an appliance. These pulses create the spark required to ignite gas at the burner when a control knob is turned to the light position. It includes both the electrode tips, and the wiring harness that routes electrical signals from the ignition module to each burner location. It is installed within the cooktop system and operates during burner startup, ensuring each gas burner receives consistent ignition signals for lighting during cooking and heating functions.
Step 1: The appliance is disconnected from the electrical outlet.
Step 2: Any screws securing the control panel are taken out.
