Product Description

The General Electric WB06X10686 Microwave Damper controls airflow through the exhaust system by directing vented air outward and preventing outside air, smoke, or odors from flowing back into the unit when the fan is not operating. It opens in response to airflow generated by the ventilation fan and closes when airflow stops to maintain proper air control. It is installed at the exhaust outlet or vent duct connection, where it interfaces with the blower housing and ductwork through a secured mounting arrangement. Its configuration provides one-way airflow control and maintaining proper exhaust performance during use.

Installation Steps

Step 1: The GE microwave oven should be disconnected from the electrical outlet and all internal components, including the turntable and tray, should be taken out.

Step 2: The screws found at the top of the unit that hold the vent damper in position should be removed. The vent damper should be gently detached from its location.
