The General Electric WB02X27206 Range Hood Damper is a replacement element that controls the airflow in the ventilation system. Its main purpose is opening and closing of the exhaust pathway to permit air to escape during the running of the hood and to prevent drafts during the off-running of the hood. It works by opening or closing a duct by means of a moving flap or a group of flaps that swing in the opening based on variations in the air pressure. It is fastened by attaching the damper assembly to the opening in the appliance's vent duct.
