Installation Steps
Step 1: The dryer is disconnected from the electrical outlet and the gas supply to the appliance is turned off.
Step 2: The screws securing the front panel located at the top, bottom, and both sides of the dryer are taken out using a screwdriver.
Step 3: The front panel is detached from the dryer body and set aside.
Step 4: The Whirlpool W11579564 SHIELD-DRYER situated inside the dryer is identified.
Step 5: The wiring harness is unplugged from the Whirlpool W11579564 SHIELD-DRYER by pressing the clips on each side of the connector.
Step 6: The screws that secure the Whirlpool W11579564 SHIELD-DRYER are taken out and it is lifted out of the dryer.
Step 7: The new Whirlpool W11579564 SHIELD-DRYER is inserted into the dryer and it is fastened with the screws taken out in step 6.
Step 8: The wiring harness is reattached to the new Whirlpool W11579564 SHIELD-DRYER.
Step 9: The front panel is reinstalled onto the dryer body and it is secured with the screws that were removed in step 2.
Step 10: The dryer is reconnected to the electrical outlet and the gas supply to the appliance is activated.
