The Whirlpool W11417622 Washer Water Level Pressure Switch controls the process of filling an appliance by making sure that the tub is full with the right amount of water and provides the system a signal to stop filling up. It is mounted in any Whirlpool washers that are compatible, usually behind the control panel and attached by a thin air-pressure hose to the tub. As the water fills up the pressure in the hose rises during it reaches a predetermined point.
