The Whirlpool W11316766 Washer Shock Absorber 1-Piece protects against vibration and stabilizes the movement of the drum during the spin and agitation cycles. The absorber is installed between the washer tub and the lower chassis and is connected at the top and bottom with mounting brackets in line with the suspension of the appliance. Its damping system internally absorbs kinetic energy to reduce the oscillation of the tub in coordination with springs and other components. The shock absorber ensures that the drum is balanced in the process of motion.
