Installation Steps

Step 1: Disconnect the power cord. Ensure the power cord is unplugged from the wall outlet rather than just from the appliance itself.

Step 2: Take off the back panel. Utilize a Philips head screwdriver to take out the four screws that are securing the back panel to the appliance.

Step 3: Relax the belt tensioner. Detach the mounting bolts that are securing the belt tensioner. Relax the belt tensioner by rotating the retaining nut counterclockwise.

Step 4: Extract the old belt. Gently lift the belt off the motor pulley and take it out of the appliance.

Step 5: Place the new belt. Position the new belt onto the motor pulley and ensure it is aligned correctly.

Step 6: Secure the belt tensioner. Reinstall the retaining nut and reposition the belt tensioner. Confirm that the retaining nut is tightened firmly and verify the belt tension by gently pulling on it.

Step 7: Reinstall the back panel. Insert the four screws that were previously removed and attach the back panel.

Step 8: Reapply power. Plug the power cord back into both the wall outlet and the appliance.

The Whirlpool washer belt (Part #W11239857) has now been successfully swapped.
