Product Description

The Whirlpool W11213913 Microwave Grease Filter is an internal airflow component that is supposed to trap oil, and airborne particles generated during cooking. It function is to screen exhaust air that is introduced in the ventilation system of the microwave, which assists in avoiding accumulation on internal fans, and ducts. The filter operates by letting the air go through its layered media, which captures the contaminants, and then the air is recirculated or vented out. It is installed at the back of the vent grille of the microwave and is placed in such a way that it can be easily accessed during maintenance.

Installation Steps

Step 1: Prior to starting, the water supply to the refrigerator should be deactivated and the refrigerator should be disconnected from the wall outlet.

Step 2: The filter should be identified and the cover should be detached by rotating it counterclockwise.

Step 3: The old filter should be extracted and it should be disposed of appropriately.

Step 4: A new Whirlpool W11213913 filter should be positioned securely into the slot until a click confirming it is locked in place is heard.

Step 5: The cover should be reattached and it should be rotated clockwise to fasten it securely.

Step 6: The water supply should be reactivated and the refrigerator should be reconnected to the power source.

Step 7: The Reset button should be pressed, if necessary, and the air should be purged from the system by operating the water dispenser for two to three minutes until the water flows clear.
