The Whirlpool W11195379 Washer Sensor Switch senses the state of the water, or the door/lid position in the washing machines. It works through the conversion of physical inputs into electrical signals which are transmitted to the control board of the washer. The switch is installed within the cabinet of the washer and is connected to the interior wiring harness at specific points of mounting. It assists in ensuring the proper sequencing of the cycles and safety operations in the course of the normal wash cycles.
