The Whirlpool W10890667 is a refrigerator drain pan, also known as a drip tray. It is a critical component located at the bottom back of your refrigerator, usually behind the toe grille. This seemingly simple pan is critical to the proper operation of your refrigerator. During the defrost cycle, condensation builds up and melts into water. This water then travels down the drain line, exiting through a small hole 2 inches into the drain pan. The pan collects the water and lets it evaporate safely.
