Installation Steps

Step 1: The refrigerator should be disconnected from the power source and the water supply line leading to the ice maker should be turned off.

Step 2: The screw positioned near the upper part of the refrigerator wall that holds the ice maker assembly in place should be identified. A screwdriver should be utilized to take out the screw.

Step 3: The ice maker assembly should be gently extracted from the wall using vise grips.

Step 4: Any plastic plugs that are shielding the two wires attached to the assembly should be taken off. Both wires should be detached from the ice maker assembly.

Step 5: The new replacement W10884390 Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly should be inserted into the wall. The assembly should be fastened using the screw that was removed in step 2.

Step 6: The two wires should be reconnected to the new ice maker assembly and the plastic plugs should be replaced over the connections.

Step 7: The water supply line should be reactivated and the refrigerator should be reconnected to the power source.

Step 8: If sound is started to be produced by the ice maker, it indicates proper functionality.
