Installation Steps
Step 1: The water supply to your refrigerator is cut off. The fridge is disconnected from the power outlet by being unplugged.
Step 2: The shut-off valve located behind your refrigerator is disabled. If one is not present, the valve will need to be accessed by removing the back panel.
Step 3: The screws that secure the back panel are taken out and it is gently detached. Caution is advised of any water lines that may be routed through the panel to avoid causing damage.
Step 4: The water valve positioned near the bottom of the refrigerator is identified and the two screws that hold it in place are unscrewed. After the screws are removed, the water valve is carefully pulled out from the fridge.
Step 5: The water supply lines from the existing valve are detached. The configuration of each line is remembered, as this setup will need to be replicated when the new valve is installed.
Step 6: The new W10853723 water valve is attached to the water supply lines. It is ensured that the connections are secure.
Step 7: The back panel of the refrigerator is reinstalled and fastened with the screws that were previously removed.
Step 8: The shut-off valve is reactivated and the refrigerator is reconnected to the power source by being plugged in. The water supply to the fridge is restored and any leaks are inspected.
