Essentially, it acts as a switch, receiving electrical signals to open and allow water passage when needed and turning off the flow when not in use. A faulty valve may not close properly, causing constant water dripping or pooling inside the refrigerator. Installation Steps

Step 1: The power source should be detached from your appliance. Although the water inlet valve does not carry electricity, the power source is necessary for safety to be disconnected.

Step 2: The cold and hot water supply lines should be turned off. Typically, the valves that manage the water supply to the inlet valve are positioned directly behind the appliance.

Step 3: The inlet valve should be identified. It is generally situated on the rear wall of the appliance and should be distinctly labeled as “INLET”.

Step 4: The mounting screws should be taken out from the valve housing. Your ratchet along with a hex nut driver should be utilized to extract the two screws that hold the valve housing to the appliance.

Step 5: The connections to the water supply lines should be unscrewed. Your flared nut wrench should be employed to loosen the fittings that link the water supply lines to the water inlet valve.

Step 6: The old water inlet valve should be extracted. After the fittings have been detached, the old valve can be removed from the housing. To facilitate this action, a small amount of penetrating oil should be applied to the fittings to assist in loosening them more readily.

Step 7: The new water inlet valve should be set up. The inlet valve should be linked to the water supply lines and then the valve should be placed back into the housing. The valve should be fastened using the mounting screws that were taken out earlier.

Step 8: The power source should be reconnected and the water supply to the unit should be activated. All the fittings should be inspected for any leaks and adjustments should be made as needed.

Please remember, these instructions serve as general guidance and should always be utilized alongside the manufacturer's manual, if one is available.
