The Whirlpool W10847562 Dishwasher Circulation Motor and Pump is fitted within the base of the unit to force water through the spray arms during the wash cycle. It is made to maintain the water flowing at appropriate pressure and hence distributes it well to all the racks. It works by sucking water out of the sump, pumping it through the wash system and returning it to the sump to clean continuously.
