Installation Steps

Step 1: Prior to substituting the W10820043 Whirlpool Washer Basket Drive and Brake Assembly, the power cord should be disconnected from the wall socket and the water supply to the appliance should be shut off.

Step 2: The washer's access panel should be taken off. If required, a screwdriver should be utilized to extract the screws for access to the basket drive and brake assembly.

Step 3: The wires linked to the motor should be detached and the motor clamps should be freed. The motor should be raised out of the washer and positioned aside.

Step 4: The water hoses should be uncoupled from the basket drive and brake assembly by employing pliers to loosen the hose clamps.

Step 5: With a screwdriver, the three screws that secure the basket drive and brake assembly to the tub should be unscrewed.

Step 6: The old basket drive and brake assembly should be gently extracted.

Step 7: The new W10820043 Whirlpool Washer Basket Drive and Brake Assembly should be inserted and fastened with the three screws.

Step 8: The hoses should be reconnected to the new basket drive and brake assembly and the hose clamps should be secured using the pliers.
