Installation Steps

Step 1: The washing machine is disconnected from the electrical outlet and the water supply is turned off.

Step 2: The back panel of the washer is taken off to gain access to the motor and drive hub assembly.

Step 3: The belt is detached from the motor pulley and the two clamps that hold the drive hub onto the motor shaft are loosened.

Step 4: A bucket is positioned beneath the hub and the four small screws that secure it are taken out.

Step 5: The old drive hub is removed and any gaskets or other remnants are cleared away.

Step 6: The new W10820039 Whirlpool basket drive hub is fitted, ensuring that the four small screws are tightened firmly to the motor shaft.

Step 7: The belt is reattached onto the motor pulley and the two clamps are used to fasten the hub securely.

Step 8: The back panel is reinstalled onto the washing machine.

Step 9: The water supply is reconnected and the washer is plugged back into the electrical outlet.

Step 10: The washing machine is operated with a few items to verify that the new hub is functioning correctly.
