The Whirlpool W10178934 Range Orifice controls the flow of gas into the burner assembly, which determines the charge of fuel flow into the burner to provide ignition and sustenance of the flame. It is fitted in the burner valve orifice holder, which is fitted between the gas supply line and the burner head and connected to the valve and manifold system. The orifice has an opening to ensure accurate metering of the gas when it is in operation. It works together with the gas control system to ensure stable combustion and help to maintain the same heat production.
