The Whirlpool W10823729 Range Surface Dual Element provides adjustable heat for cooking in the appliance. It operates by conducting current to resistive coils which heat the metal loops to the desired temperature with inner and outer circuits turning on according to the control settings and transferring electrical energy into thermal energy by using two concentric heating areas of the right size for the cookware. It is installed in the cooktop cutout and is connected to the terminal block with existing mounting hardware.
