The Smeg 690075471 Blender Blade Assembly is used to chop and mix food by spinning sharp blades which are activated by the motor coupling on the mixer. Rotating force is passed on by the motor shaft to the blade hub and it causes turbulent flow and cuts the contents against the cutting edges to ensure uniform processing. It connects to the jar base sealing gasket to prevent leakage and still directly mechanically connects to the motor. At the base of the blender pitcher is the blade assembly which is designed to be a part and parcel of the jar base.
