Installation Steps

Step 1: The water supply should be detached from the refrigerator. The cold water line connecting your wall to the refrigerator should be identified, and the water flow should be stopped by rotating the valve in a clockwise manner.

Step 2: The old filter should be removed. The filter cartridge situated in the bottom right section of the refrigerator should be found and taken out by twisting it with a pair of pliers.

Step 3: The old filter should be extracted. The old filter should be carefully pulled from the refrigerator, taking care not to harm any other components within the unit.

Step 4: The new filter should be placed. The new RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter should be gently inserted into the refrigerator, verifying that it is correctly aligned.

Step 5: The new filter should be fastened. The pliers should be used to tighten the filter securely in position.

Step 6: The water supply should be reattached. The valve should be rotated counterclockwise to restore the water supply to the refrigerator.

Step 7: The water flow should be activated. The water should be let run for a few minutes to eliminate any air bubbles in the system and to flush out any remnants from the old filter.

That’s all! The task has been completed! Congratulations on successfully replacing the RPWFE GE SmartWater Filter in your refrigerator. Enjoy your filtered water!
