Installation Steps

Step 1: The power supply to the appliance should be cut off and it should be verified that the switch is set to the OFF position.

Step 2: Any screws or bolts that hold the panel over the start switch should be taken out. Depending on your appliance's model, either a Phillips or flathead screwdriver might be required to detach the panel.

Step 3: After the panel has been removed, the start switch should be identified. This switch will be linked to the appliance's wiring via wires.

Step 4: The screws that are securing the switch should be removed. A Phillips or flathead screwdriver may be needed to take them out.

Step 5: Once the screws are out, the switch should be carefully pulled away from the wiring. The wiring connections should be observed to ensure the new switch can be reconnected in the same manner once installed.

Step 6: The insulation from the ends of the wires should be gently stripped to prepare them for the new switch.

Step 7: The new switch should be positioned in the same location as the previous one, and it should be fastened using the same screws.

Step 8: The wires should be reconnected to the new switch in the identical manner as the old one. It should ensure that the wiring connections are secure and tight before proceeding.

Step 9: The panel should be replaced, securing it with the screws or bolts.

Step 10: Lastly, the power should be restored and the switch should be tested. It should be confirmed that the appliance operates correctly by turning it on and off before finalizing the replacement.

Congratulations! The WE4X881 GE Rotary Start Switch has been successfully replaced.
