The White Rodgers PG9A42JTL20 Pilot Burner and Generator provides a stable pilot flame and generates the millivolt signal required to operate in gas-fired appliances. It operates by keeping a constant flame that ignites the main burner in the system requires heat, with the pilot flame heat being transferred to a generator attached to the system, converting the heat into low-voltage output which is used to operate the valves. This is attached to flame contacts and better ignition is to be performed.
