The Midea 17470000009145 Microwave High Voltage Transformer is fitted in the domestic ovens to step down the low-voltage electricity to the high voltage needed to energise the magnetron to cook. This is the main electric part that improves the incoming 120V or 240V domestic power to around 2,000 to 3,000 volts. The transformer works under electromagnetic induction and alternating current passes through primary coils to create a magnetic field, which is passed to secondary coils to increase the voltage.
