The Liebherr 615104400 Refrigerator Thermostat is the temperature control switch, which turns on and off the compressor and fans of the cooling system. The thermostat switches an electrical circuit on when the temperature exceeds the user-set point, initiating the cooling cycle. When the required temperature is reached, the circuit is opened and the cooling process is terminated. This cycling keeps the temperature constant to enhance food preservation and efficiency of the system. It is fitted in the refrigerator compartment and also has an additional defrost feature.
