The Packard IG1100 Furnace Universal Round Silicon Igniter Kit is a gas burner that ignites when the silicon carbide surface is heated to the ignition temperature by powering the control board. It works by electrical resistance which generates concentrated heat at its tip. It is mounted close to the burner manifold and is attached using the hardware that comes with it and is connected to the ignition leads of the furnace.
